2009 Soccer Championship Fact Sheet

 

FORMAT
The two division winners plus the next two teams with the highest point totals will meet in a four-team single-elimination tournament to determine the California Collegiate Athletic Association's (CCAA) champion and automatic entrant into the NCAA Division II Championship. The match-ups will be based on seedings (No. 1 vs. No. 4 and No. 2 vs. No. 3) unless they are members of same division at which point the highest seed from one division will play the lowest seed from the other division.

FACILITY
The 2009 championship will held at the newly-constructed lighted Warrior Stadium on the campus of Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock. The facility opened this fall and has a capacity of 2,100

DIRECTIONS
To Cal State Stanislaus Warrior Stadium
    Take CA-99 to Turlock and exit Monte Vista Ave./University Way. Go East on Monte Vista Ave. until you past the University. Turn left on Geer Road and use the first University entrance on the left

PARKING
Spectator parking for Warrior Stadium is free on game days in in Lot 8 in front of Warrior Arena or Lot 7 near the baseball field and tennis courts, by using the Geer Road entrance to CSU Stanislaus. Please refer to Visitor’s Guide at WarriorAthletics.com or campus maps at www.csustan.edu

Each visiting team will be provided a designated number of complimentary permits for team vehicles. These permits will be provided to the coach. Team parking will be available in designated bus parking spots with blue signs near the Student Recreation Center and in the SRC Lot.

Officials and VIP parking will also be in Lot 12 (SRC Lot).

Parking in unauthorized areas (handicapped, loading zones, etc.) will result in citations and fines will be the responsibility of the violators.

    Take CA-99 to Turlock and exit Monte Vista Ave./University Way. Go East on Monte Vista Ave. turn left on Countryside Drive (the first stop light on Monte Vista Ave.) and the hotels are on your left.

BANQUET
The CCAA Championship Banquet will be Saturday, Nov. 7 as a site to be determined.

Buffet meal will be available for players, coaches and immediate team personnel during the CCAA Championship Banquet for $20 per person. Additional seating for parents and guests are available on a limited basis for $30 per person. Please submit your head count to Kim Duyst by phone or e-mail (kduyst@csustan.edu) by 4:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 2.

Attire for the banquet is “casual nice” and photos will be taken of all participating teams. Make sure to leave adequate time for travel so that the event can start as scheduled. Championship merchandise will be on sale at the banquet so that teams may have an opportunity to make purchases prior to the general public.
